Words Counting Crows Tried To Convince Us Rhymed

I first learned of Counting Crows after watching Shrek 2. As with the first, Shrek 2 has an impressive soundtrack, my favorite being the song Accidentally In Love, which plays during the montage chronicling the early days of Shrek and Fiona's marriage, to this day I listen to the song with some frequency. One thing about this song that always bothered me was the amount of times the song attempts to make it seem as if they are rhyming two words that never rhymed in the first place. Here are some examples

Faster and After
Closer and Whisper
Higher and Lighter

These occur always during the same bridge type part of the song which occurs four times in the song, part of me wants to say that they never even tried to rhyme them but that idea is disproven by the fact that once of the four times in the song, it does work. Tighter and Brighter. Well, as you should have guessed by the title of this blog, this entry, along with most of what i'm going to be posting has no significance and was simply one man commenting on a random matter that probably never caught your attention before but probably will after this. Have a nice day.
